Happy Thursday!
Thirteen Interesting Baby Food Flavors and If Justice Likes Them:
  1. Cinnamon Raison Pears with Apples-Likes
  2. Macaroni & Cheese-The Kind in the Jar-yuck! the real stuff he's into
  3. Strawberry Banana-I actually like this one and so does Justice
  4. Carrot, Mango, and Apple-this is a Latina brand of Gerber/Beech Nutt and Justice loves it
  5. Sweet Peas with Rice-he'll eat it amazingly, but not a lot at a time
  6. Zucchini-Another Latina Brand, Justice can't stand!
  7. Pink Guava-Just had today and it is pretty good, Justice likes!
  8. Sweet Potatoes and Apples-this is Justice's favorite, it is very sweet!
  9. Peaches-Can't give, he gets a bad diaper rash everytime
  10. Prunes-likes and keeps him regular! along with the Plums/Apple mix
  11. Apples or Sweet Potatoes with Chicken or Turkey-Justice won't eat the meat unless mixed with one or the other
  12. Chicken with Vegetable Stew-Yucky, yucky, no sweet mixed in, not a good thing, Justice will grunt, tense up and push the spoon away
  13. Mixed Fruit or Banana Yogurt-"Good stuffums!" as we say in our household.

I like to try new things with Justice, 11 mos. old, to expose him to lots of different tastes. Ron will often ask why sometimes I torture this poor boy with some of the flavors, but he will surprise you at what he does/doesn't like. He ate a whole jar of green beans tonight, I was very impressed! So, what do you think of the menu of items? No salt, no additional flavoring, straight up veggies, meats, and fruit! Good stuffums!

Oh this so reminds me of all the stuff we'd try on the kids. Neo-Pa loved to suck on lemons by the time she was 2. *blech*

My little guy wouldn't eat that baby food meat unless it was the chicken and apples as well. It stinks, I don't blame him! He still loves the real mac n cheese too ;).

Pink Guava...now I'd have to look into this one if I had a baby just because it has pink in the name. :)

Sounds like your son is going to be a good eater. WHO would like macaroni and cheese in a jar? Ugh!

Some of those actually sound pretty good, and some sound gross! That's wonderful that you are trying so many things on him and feeding him healthfully :)

Sounds yummy for babies. My grandson used to take this baby foods too. He only ate them till he was able to eat real table food. I stopped giving it to him because babies who have been fed baby food become picky eaters when they grow up.
    Mine is up too.

it's so funny how kids are so different! most of the stuff you had listed that justice doesn't like, my little one does :) we tried chicken and gravy last week and she had no problem with it. she didn't wolf it down like sweet potatoes but she seemed to be ok with it. and then last night, b took me out to dinner and i gave her some of my laredo's chicken and she LOVED it! it has flavor though. i wish there were more options with baby food. i really don't know what else they could do but i'm so tired of sweet pot, squash, carrots, green beans, zucchini, and fruit. i guess it gets better as they get older!

I must say the Mac and Cheese in a jar is a yucky one! My little one didn't eat that stuff either. Any meats mixed with fruit is all good, but the meat alone, well, that's just gross. I was much happier when the meat stick phase came along. Awww, I miss those days. :)

My best friend had a baby in January and she is also introducing him to loads of different flavours at the moment. One at a time, so she can tell what he likes and dislikes.

Your list sounds wonderfully healthy... I fancy some sweet potatoes and apples myself now!

My boys always loved the veggies no matter what kind they were. My daughter's only 3-mos now but I can't wait to see how she reacts to the different tastes.

My son loved sweet potatoes and peas (not together)... but that was many, many moons ago - and now he's a meat-eater. He did go through a weird phase where he'd only eat green things, though. Got so I had to use food colouring just so he'd have additional foods to eat. :)

    Happy TT!
    Mine are up.

My all time favorite was and still is peach cobbler. Too bad my kids didn't like it that much, but I bought it anyway (for me!).

They so did *not* have these flavors when my kids where babes just a few years ago! Keep up the good work mom on the healthy menu! I really believe that if you start feeding kids good stuff when they're little they'll develop a taste for it instead of whining for junk food. Our kids still eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies every day. We avoid preservatives, flavorings, food colorants, and the other unnecessary stuff.

Sorry for deleting that last comment. My friend was still logged in and I didn't realize it!! My kids like trying new foods, we started encouraging them when they were younger too. Thanks for stopping by mine today!

I think it's wonderful that you give him so many different foods. It makes him worldly hehe. Thanks for visiting mine! We did go see crazy horse and the light show, but didn't make it through custer state park. We have that on the list for next time...we definitely want to go out there again!

My baby liked the sweet potatoes and apples too!

I'm glad that she's more into having chunkier bites of whatever we are eating now. It makes for an easier meal time.

Emily - I JUST realized that I hadn't responded to your request about using my "holding pattern" painting. I am sorry it has taken so long - I started to do it a couple times and then got sidetracked in the midst of leaving on vacation. And I hope you will find this comment in the midst of all your great T13 responses. (Love the baby food list, by the way! I used a little food grinder after a while and just fed the babies what we were eating, because they started sputtering at anything that came in a jar.)

Anyway - you are more than welcome to use my painting for your blog if you haven't already decided on something else. It's kinda like my baby, and very dear to my heart, so just include my name somewhere. I feel really honored that you liked it so well, and it will be amazing to see it "out there." (It took a lot of guts to post it in the first place, it's such a part of me.)Please let me know that you saw and read this...And I'll keep lurking at your blog. :)

P.S. I found a Willow Tree sculpture of a mom with a little boy on her lap and a little boy standing at her side. It's called "Quietly encircled in the arms of love." It's a little more serene than my flying away boy, but a very beautiful ideal.
