Happy Thursday!
Thirteen Things Good/Bad About Being Pregnant
The Bad:
  1. The "All Day" Sickness, at least for me that is the way it is, not just morning for me
  2. Edema-swelling, with pregnancy #1, I didn't have ankles the last two months of my pregnancy and my feet grew two sizes. All I could wear was flip flops, I am hoping since I am due in March this won't be such an issue.
  3. Mood swings, I feel like this is a 9 mos. PMS session sometimes. I feel so bad for being snappy and moody with Ron, but sometimes I just feel out of control.
  4. First Trimester Energy Zap-I have hardly any energy to get things done. My house is a wreck, I haven't really cooked in awhile, I am just zapped of energy.
  5. Doc. Visits-especially exams, I think this goes without saying
  6. Along with #5, having my blood drawn for tests, gosh I hate needles
  7. Labor and Delivery-No one enjoys this part! ------------The Good:
  8. First Kicks and Movements. I loved feeling my baby move inside of me, it makes it so real and enjoyable
  9. The Ultrasounds-Seeing your baby move around on screen while in your tummy is just so amazing. I can't wait!
  10. The excitement-The minute you tell friends and family they are just so excited and happy. The anticipation of the new life is unreal. I love the build up to the big day of meeting that little one the first time.
  11. Related to #7, Epidurals-Loving the person who came up with this. I could not have made it to delivery without this. A Woman's Best Friend!
  12. The Belly, I really did enjoy having the belly, it is just amazing to carry your child around all the time with you-great bonding!
  13. What it is all about, why all the bad is worth it, the new life coming into the world. I will have a beautiful new baby to hold and cherish. Justice will have a sibling to play with. I am joyful!

Yes, pregnancy is a wonderful time. Only, when my children came along, there was no ultra-sound. So I had no idea what my babies would be, which was great = although 2 DRS told us the first would be a son, and HE was. I knew the 2nd would be a girl - never picked out a boy's name!

My TT is up.

Congratulations on your coming little bundle! I just found out last month that I was going to be an aunt for the first time, so I'm seeing a lot of what you're going through in my SIL -- she has definitely had the *all day* sickness, too. ;)

Hope everything goes well for you! Thanks for visiting my TT. :)

I was blessed with great pregnancies. But I didn't like the doc exams either (Ick)

When I had my epidural,I was in heaven. I also didn't get much cooking or cleaning done, and am just now starting back, now that the baby is 6mo. My belief is enjoy them while they are little, the housework will always be there!
OH, I also loved ultrasound pics. With our last one, we got 1 3-D one. Amazing, how we got to see her, before she was born, so 1st baby pics are so cool.
I'm so happy for you!Congratulations!
Happy Early Thursday!

I love epdiurals, too! I wanted to kiss my anesthesiologist when he started mine, after 10 hours of labor with my twins. If he'd asked, I think I might have married him.

With my next pregnancy I started asking around 3 months if they could start my epi. Can you believe they made me wait until the VERY LAST DAY of the pregnancy before they would give it to me? Fascists!

Thanks for stopping by my 13!

Awwww, reminds me of when I was pregnant 18 years ago! Just like you said, when the baby arrives it will all have been worth it. :)

Maybe I haven't been here in a while. didn't know you were having another. Congratulations!!!

I'm not looking forward to the sickness bits. I hope I'll have one in the cooler months, I can't imagine being 8-9 months is summer!

I love ultrasound pics! They're so cool, little face and hands and feet!

You said it. But you have to add that people are nicer to pregnant women. They open doors, let you go ahead of them in line for the restroom and all that stuff. As soon as you have the stroller, they rush to get far in front of and sometimed run you over in the process.

congrats again! we moms know it's all worth it!

I had "all day sickness" too. Lasted 9 months with my third. Sorry, that's not very encouraging! Best wishes!

My TT is up.

Oh how I wish I could have skipped the pregnant part. As kailani said, I preferred labor/delivery!

Nothing beats holding that little bundle though...

Ah, those were the days. My feet were so swollen you could feel the water rushing over top of them when I walked. My arms were so swelled I did not have elbows, lol!

I had difficult pregnancies each time, but I still kind of miss being pregnant. Maybe it's just knowing that I'll never go through it again that makes me miss it a little.

I was so fortunate to feel good most of the time (at least that's the way I remember it from long ago). We had no clue what we were having - suspense can be a good thing! I enjoyed being pregnant and noticed that the minute you had the baby, the focus leaves you and goes entirely to the baby. They forget to even ask how you're doing! Oh, well. Worth it.

I just did my very first TT.

I was fortunate my twin pregnancy went so well. I only began swelling up in the last few weeks.

Enjoy your Thursday!

I haven't had the honor of being pregnant yet, but it sure sounds like the pros outweight the cons ;-)! Thanks for posting - happy TT!

Yes, epidurals are the best thing EVER! And I still love thinking of feeling the baby kick and move. What a special feeling that is!

Loved your 13!

a good mix of the good and bad of pregnancy

I remember the edema vividly -- with my youngest it went all the way up above my knees

what a fabulous post! i've never been pregnant before, but i love hearing about all the good parts; sometimes the focus is so much more on what is difficult (and the actual delivery!). :)

great list - how the next trimester goes well. :)

Hope you start feeling better soon! So many people are pregnant right now...

it is so funny how women look at things so differently. my list would be very different. i loved the dr's visits (i didn't necessarily love the exam part but i was always excited b/c i got to see how close i was to delivery). and the epidural--it was great for about 2 hours but other than that, i could've doen without it since it stopped working anyway. i did love the belly though. i miss that!

Kristen said...

I agree with you on all of these! Especially the epidural. Couldn't have gotten through it without one! :-)
